Review: Charcoal Mask

It's been so long since I was looking for the replacement of my favorite nose pack and I've searched to and fro and still wasn't able to see the perfect replacement there would be. However, I saw from a friend's account that she was selling a Charcoal Mask which I believed was also sold at Daiso or Japan Home. I know this Charcoal Mask was a hit in Japan so I tried buying one. I was a little disappointed.  

I have known black mask or anything that is related to charcoal are effective as nose pack. That is why this nose pack from The Face Shop is my favorite because it just totally removed the tiniest whitehead I can see. I had high hopes on this product so much because I've been eyeing for this at Daiso but just can't find one. Now I can say that I have hands-on experience with this beauty product.

The product was written in Japanese but the instructions on how to use it at the back are written in good English. Good thing they wrote something important that can be understood. 

Upon opening the cover, there is an inner covering which prevents the product to spill. I have noticed this among Korean and Japanese  and I like that they are very meticulous when it comes to hygiene. Thumbs up for that!

The product is a black, sticky cream that you need to put in any part of the face before it dries. There's no bad smell and I can't smell any particular scent also so this is okay. It's just a little sticky so it's quite difficult to apply. I push out the product from the tube and used my bare hands by the way. I don't think a scooper or any tool will be useful since the product is quite sticky and can easily harden. 

You just have to wait for 10-15 minutes or until the product has dried off. The first time I used this, I made sure it was dry before I peeled it off so it took me around 30 minutes waiting. When I peeled off the product, I noticed that it was peeled in portion. I was disappointed because I was expecting that since it hardened already, it can be peeled off all throughout. 

I gave the product the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe I was not just used to it. so I tried the same process the second time and still the same thing happened like the one below. Since it's broken into pieces, I just can't see how much amount of whitehead and blackhead it pulled off.

I think the product was effective in removing whiteheads and blackheads as you can see in the photo above. There are slight whiteheads that are shown in those black pack. However, I know the product can do better than this. I just think that this product may be old or was stock for so long that the effect was not that good anymore. I have known this from reviews that it's a peel-off in one go pack when it dries. It's just so sad I haven't experienced it with this product! I'm disappointed.

Manicure Monday: Fast-Lane Fuchsia

It's been a while since I last posted something on the blog. After the DNS problem I had on my site, I also encountered intermittent connection with our service provider which made everything a hassle. However, I felt that it happened as if telling me that I just needed a break on social media so I'll count those inconveniences as an advantage for me. I get to rest and spend quality time with my loved ones. 

I'm back now and with a new Manicure Monday post. I really really wanted to try doing nail art but I just don't have the time in my hands. Since it's a long weekend, I'll try to find time in designing new nail art for next week's Manicure Monday post. This time, it's just a plain, shocking color I'm going to show you loves. 

I bought this Sally Hansen nail polish in Fast-Lane Fuchsia a couple of months ago and  still haven't reviewed it. I actually like the color but it dries sooooo slow that I tried to coat my index finger several times (like four times) because it was damaged easily when I thought it was already dry. Even with top coat, it was easily damaged despite waiting for it to dry for around 10 minutes or so.

As for it's longevity, it stayed around 4 days on my nails with top coat before it chipped and it damaged my nails. I think this has low-quality formula that dries so slow, chips easily and makes the nails so dry and left it cracking. I am very careful with my nails. I am applying base coat and top coat every time I polsih them. I also put nail oil and I'm using hand and nail butter every time I feel the need to do so but it still damaged my nails so I was really disappointed in this. I still have a Sally Hansen pastel blue nail polish and I hope that won't disappoint me.

Overall, I think the product already was old or maybe it was just made like that. I purchased this over at Bid From Zero for P89.10. I hope the pastel blue one won't be like this one. I am really praying it will be effective than this and won't be a disappointment. 

Will try to use that this week for the nail art I am planning to do. I hope it won't disappoint. Expect more nail colors soon! Xoxo ♥

Review: Chapstick Mixstix in Strawberry Banana Smoothie and Lemon Berry Sorbet

I guess this sample has got to be one of my fave samples from Sample Room by far. Chapstick has been known in giving lips it's lost moisture and fixing every lip problem. This has got to be my first Chapstick experience on the blog and I love the new concept that Chapstick has - the ability of mixing flavor in one. 

I actually first got the Lemon Berry Sorbet since my points can't sufficed two at once. I was not a VIP member then but I am now. Unlike the normal lip balms that only has one flavor, this has two on both sides. I like the berry and the strawberry too. Having a two-in-one product lets you choose what flavor to use depending on your mood. Every time I use it, I use it depending on what I wanted to taste or smell at a certain time.

These two has very nice scent. It really smell like the flavor it portrays. The banana really smells like the banana as well as the others. The packaging was also cute and pretty. I almost like everything about this. As for the moisture? It's just so moisturizing that I only reapply it few times than my other balms.

I love the product! I want to repurchase this and I hope Chapstick will listen to my pleas and will make this available here. I also hope they will create more two-sided lip balms and hoping that mint and strawberry will be combined together. How about mango and cherry? The combination is limitless.

Review: FS Luscious Lipstick in Creamy Nut

Heading back to blogging made me really excited after all the days our PC was down due to connection errors and for the week I was admitted in the hospital. I felt that I was so behind my blog posts and I am so excited to review all the products I received from my July BDJ Box. Being a lipstick lover, I got to try and review the FS lipstick first. 

I am not really familiar with FS and this is my first lipstick with them. I like the gold container for it looks sophisticated and there's also an FS letter at the tip of the lipstick. 

What I received is a creamy variant which is the Creamy Nut shade. This brand claims to have 9 creamy shades and 9 matte shades. I just hoped I got a matte one. This is really pigmented though it can be easily rubbed-off.

After 3-5 application, the tip which has the FS mark on it already faded. It has a subtle light pink color that can be worn everyday. It has a creamy texture and can be easily applied on the lips.  

The downside though is that it is not long-wearing. When I first applied it, I drank water after 20 minutes or so then it suddenly disappeared. I like how it feels smooth on the lips after application but what I like on the lips is the color and the longevity. For the color, I like how it can be used daily but I think I like a little ooomph on the color more. 

Overall, I don't think I would repurchase another FS lipstick if it's like this. I would like to try their matte version though. I am thinking that this will be great for those times I will be expecting someone at home like a visitor or even the boyfriend. The color just looks natural that I can use it during those situations. For days at work, I guess I would skip this though.

August 2015 BDJ Elite Box Unboxing: The Look of Love

I should have posted this several days ago but due to intermittent connection, I just had this up now because we had the net fixed today. Anyway, say hello to my August BDJ Elite Box unboxing! Honestly, I accidentally saw some unboxing posts on Instagram before I got my box so it wasn't much of a surprise. The only thing I was praying for is that I wish to get the shades that will suit my skin. Wish granted! 

This is my first-ever Elite box. The August-December boxes from BDJ will all be Elite boxes compared to the first months which were ordinary boxes. This is a little expensive (P1480) than the normal box which is P580.00. The Look of Love is the concept of this month's Elite box and definitely this is really the look of love for me! I started loving Revlon from the very first product I used from them and you wouldn't have any idea how I reacted when I opened this box! I was so happy that I am opening it every time I am feeling down. It just turns me on! ♥

Upon opening the sophisticated black box, the note cards above welcomed me. There are cards for each product and three other cards are some beauty information like how to customized eye look with satin and sparkle finishes, how to create an ombre lip and also explanation on the perfect brows for each face shape.

It's also the time to color my hair so it's great to get a hair coloring product on the box as well.

Too bad I wasn't able to subscribe on September and October's box but I will definitely get one for November and December. I am currently subscribed on a different company box for Septemeber and I'm excited about that as well. I am currently working on a blog project which is worth those two boxes I'm eyeing so I need to finish that to pay for my beauty needs wants! Haha.

Manicure Monday: Canmake Colorful Nails

This was supposedly my Manicure Monday post last week but since my body is not feeling well last Monday, (I was already having fever that time) I rested instead of posting this. So now, here's my Manicure Monday polish. I got the nail polish from my BDJ Box last July which is from a brand named Canmake. 

This is my first Canmake product and I've heard good reviews about the brand. I like that this color is a stand out but what I love is it's staying power. I already have it in my nails for almost 8 days and it doesn't chipped-off. I only had tried a few number of nail polishes I can mention that has superb longevity! This is one of it! 

I'm hearing negative feedback on people who received the same color on their July BDJ Box because they don't like the color but I think differently. Since I don't have this hue on my nail polish rack, I like that I received it. It also looks good on my nails too! The nurse at the hospital even complemented me about it! :) 

I want to try another color but since it's not chipping off yet, I will let it stay longer on my nails! Will try more soon and I hope you watch out for the other colors I'll be putting on! XOXO ♥

Review: The Face Shop's Real Nature Mask in Olive

After being hospitalized for almost 4 days, I felt that my skin needs to be exfoliated, moisturized and pampered really well. So what I need after arriving home, is not to rest but to masked up! Haha. I just didn't have a proper skin care routine at the hospital because my hands are tied up with the dextrose. I hate going to the hospital! I hope I won't return there ever again! 

I used The Face Shop's Real Nature Mask in Olive this time. Lately, I'm masking several times a week, like 2-3 and I have a good number of pieces of masks on my stash. I also have them in different brands and application type. Will update you guys in every new mask I will use. 

What I like with this olive is that it gives nourishment and moisture on my skin. After having a dull skin for few days, this didn't failed me. I also like that it's pure of essence and it's even dripping when I took it out. I put some of those essence on my neck. 

Obviously, you'll notice that my neck has essence. Those are some of the remaining essence on the pack and some of the dripping ones which I put on my neck. The Face Shop's masks never fail to amaze me! 

I'll use a foot mask next on my series of review so watch out for that. I wonder how it feels and what effect will it give. I'm slowly going back after retrieving my blog's domain and after going out from the hospital yesterday afternoon. I need to be back on track slowly but surely. I wouldn't want to end up on the hospital again just because of stress from work.

Create Your Own Coloring Page at Really Color!

Few weeks ago, I received an email from Jamballa that my blog was chosen to review Really Color - a technology that allows you to convert your own real world photos into printable coloring book pages.  The website has the concept of create-your-own coloring material where you can purchase credits and use those credits to turn your photos into coloring materials. Dieter, the CEO of Really Color offered me to try and blog about the experience! I actually loved the site! 

With the increasing hype on adult coloring books in the market lately, this Really Color stands out! Here, you can use your own favorite photos or any photos you like that you want to color. The finish product will be sent to your email and you can print unlimited copies of it! Start first by clicking Create Your Coloring Page.

Then you have to upload a photo you wish to turn into a coloring page and adjust the photo to your liking on the left part. It will give different option on the side and there's also an erase and draw button  you can use if you wish to add details on the coloring page. Click on continue after.

By clicking continue, it will proceed to a page for details. You can wish to add or lessen the detail of your coloring page. You can click the more detail and less detail option in this case. If you wish to stop there, you have the option to save and print but if not, just click on continue. 

The last part before the print out is adjusting the line's thickness. The screenshot below is the thickest line before the print out and I also screenshot it with a lesser line adjustment which I think I like better. 

After adjusting the line's thickness, you can then save and print it and you will proceed to this page. NOTE: You can always go back if you wish to edit some details at a certain stage! Just click the Go Back button. 

As I've told you earlier, you have to have credits to print your own coloring page. Don't worry because I will be having a giveaway for this soon! :) 

I tried it out on some of our photo together and it turned out great! I admit I may not be good in coloring and I'm still practicing mixing colors but this has been therapeutic for me. It relieves stress and all I want to do is just color away! 

You can print it in any sizes or even on different kinds of paper. Here, I just downloaded it in regular bond paper. I want to put it in a photo paper soon and I might need to use a different coloring material.

Overall, my experience on coloring this is great and I am not finished yet! If only I have brought this at the hospital while I was admitted, this would have kept me company! Overall, the experience is great and I know you will enjoy creating and coloring your own coloring page.
